The two foreign brothers, who are non-natives of Thailand, have demonstrated their affection towards Thailand and have been graciously honored with the Royal Insignie.


It has been officially announced on the website of the Royal Gazette that the Royal Insignie of the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn has been bestowed by the Prime Minister's Office upon two foreign nationals, Mr. Igor Protasov and Mr. Alexey Protasov , in recognition of their altruistic deeds and valuable contributions to Thailand. Their donation of property to The Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand, under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, has been deemed worthy of such an honor."


Mr. Igor Protasov and Mr. Alexey Protasov, who have been residing and conducting business in Phuket since 2010, have been esteemed members of Lions Club Phuket Pearl for more than eight years. During their tenure, they have served the club in various capacities, including club secretary, president, and zone chairman for five clubs in Phuket. They have taken the initiative to embark on and engage in numerous projects aimed at aiding underprivileged children, orphans, children afflicted with cancer, autistic children, disabled persons, and other individuals in need of assistance.


This has been executed through the donation of medical equipment and supplies to diverse hospitals within the vicinity. Additionally, they have provided support and active participation in social activities that are organized by the Foundation under the auspices of Her Majesty the Queen, as well as other organizations. These activities include but are not limited to the Thai-language dictionary competition for youths, which is in accordance with the royal initiative of King Rama IX, annual eye checkups aimed at producing and distributing free eyeglasses to local schools, assisting Thai children undergoing cancer treatment, environmental projects and scholarships amongst others. Furthermore, they possess proficiency in the use of five languages.

Furthermore, that they engage in serving society as volunteer tourist police officers, rendering their services as interpreters for the tourist police station. They also offer their services as interpreters to judges and prosecutors during court proceedings. Additionally, they assist as interpreters for foreign patients in state hospitals, and provide aid to various government agencies, with a particular emphasis on charitable organizations.
