New Baby Elephant Promotion in Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

Today, September 28, 2022, at 9 a.m. Mr. Kampol Tansajja President of Nong Nooch Park, Pattaya Sattahip, Chonburi Province held a birthday party to welcome the newborn elephant child "Porjai" to the world and let him be blessed by monks.

The abbot of Samakkhi Banphot Temple, Prakru Kasemkittisopon (Master Joi) performs a ceremony in front of the big elephant statue to gain recognition and fame for the new born baby elephant.

The elephant statue has a height of about 10 meters and a length of about 16 meters. It is a tradition to go under the belly of the elephant and touch it on the belly.  This is very popular with Thais and also with tourists and improves their own well-being and fate.


Mr. Kampol Tansajja announced that on September 21, 2022 at 01.00 the elephant mother had died, but had had a male baby and his name should be Porjai. Porjai is the baby elephant of elephant mother "Mae Phang Fon Thip", who was 14 years old and the elephant father "Phlai Pornchai" is 15 years old and the third baby of "Mae Phang Fon Thip"

The medical examination showed that the baby elephant is in the best of health. After the school holiday Porjai will be hand over to the Elephant Camp in Nong Nooch Park, Pattaya.
