Former police officer kills 37 people in massacres at a daycare center.

Attacker Panya Khamrab, a sacked policeman  (34), has caused a bloodbath in a daycare center. Dozens of people are dead, including many children. The relatives are completely desperate.

Chan-o-cha expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims. "I have instructed the national police chief to travel to the region to speed up legal action and I have asked all parties involved to urgently help all those affected," the prime minister said.

The crime occurred on Thursday afternoon (12.10pm) in Nong Bua Lam Phu Province. Deputy police chief Torsak Sukwimol initially spoke of at least 34 dead. According to reports, the number has risen to 38. Among the victims are more than 20 children.

Most of the victims have died in the child development centre others , the recently released from the police service 34-year-old perpetrator has also continued to shoot while fleeing from his car and killed people, Thai media reported. A total of twelve people were injured, some of them seriously.

According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrator was armed with firearms and knives. With this, he forcibly gained access to the building in the district of Na Klang and immediately opened fire. He had targeted anyone who stood in his way. Many children have been attacked in a dormitory by the perpetrator. Among the victims is also a pregnant caregiver.

Subsequently, the perpetrator was first in a white pick-up on the run. The perpetrator was put out to search and a short time later he kills himself. Previously, he killed his wife and 3-year-old son in his home.

The background of the crime is still unclear. The perpetrator had been dismissed from the police service for drug offenses in June. Methamphetamine pills are said to have been found with him before. There was speculation that the man could have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the crime. A police spokesman said that anger over his dismissal and an ongoing court case against him may also be the reason for the act. He was arrested five months earlier, on January 20, when he reportedly confessed to the allegations.
